Jenner Headlands

This was a very special hike lead by the Brook of the Sonoma Land Trust. The destination was a serpentine prairie for an incredible wild flower display. The winds were strong but the views and flowers were worth it!

Austin Botanical Gardens

I was in Texas this week. The photos are from the Austin Botanical Gardens. That pointy tree is a Kapok which despite its sharp bark, its flowers create a soft fluff considered an eco filling.

The Bench and Welcome Back Bob!

I forgot my camera again so big thanks to Dard for providing these pictures!

We hiked the east ridge side of The Sea Ranch and had lunch at "The Bench" famous for its view of the ocean (seen here). Also at our lunch spot were some incredible Pussy Ear flowers (above). To make a beautiful day even better George brought his famous Swedish cookies to share and Bob made chocolate brownies in honor of tax season being over! Welcome back Bob!!!

Salt Point Waterfall Loop

Due to the windy conditions we decided to do this hike in reverse - starting on the bluff, and finishing on the east side of highway 1. A special treat was a private tour of the Salt Point Visitors Center by Marcia. We also discovered a HUGE patch of Corn Lilly while walking through the campground. The waterfall was as running as I have ever seen it due to the recent rains which also meant the trails were soggy in spots. Nice hike!

April Fool's Day

Today we did a road hike in Annapolis. The highlights were lunch at Nancy Dew's "Goddess" home, an OLD cemetery, the abundantly blooming Indian Warriors, and the soon to be historic Annapolis US Post Office (slated for closure later this year!).
