While you were at Sea Ranch...

Mary Sue reported: "On this overcast day we hiked on the Sea Ranch bluff and saw cormorant nesting habitat and cormorants."  I missed another Thursday Rambler hike this week, but for good reason!  My namesake, Harmony Grace was here with her family from Albany, NY.  Here's what I was doing:

Sleeping Lion

I didn't make it on this week's hike.... photos are compliments of Bill and Mary Sue sent the Red Huckleberry shot and here's her write up:
Today we had another nice hike to see the Sleeping Lion at Salt Point. It remained overcast the whole time, but it was a pleasant temperature for hiking and crossing over downed logs and walking through overgrown shrubs on the trail slowed us down so we had time to grab ripe huckleberries that were available in great numbers, including  a number of bushes with lots of red ones. There was still water in the waterfall and Boykinia occidentalis in bloom near the base.

No Trolls Today

Today we did a loop hike from the Del Mar Center to the Pomo Creekside Trail and back.  We left a note for the Troll in the Troll hole and received an email response from "The Troll".  We also got to see the phantom orchid!

My niece and nephew joined us on the hike today.  We toured the Del Mar Gardens and had lunch in the "super secret spot.
