BADGER/POMO LOOP revised POMO/SALAL LOOP

Start at Hidden Parking Lot at 10:00  (on westside entrance just left after pulling past fee post.)   There is a fee per car. (Or park across the street and cross Highway One if you do not have a pass.)  Enter Sea Ranch on eastside of highway 1 to Haversack and turn right on Deer Trail. Take the trails that pass the Children's Environmental Play Park and then continue down Deer Trail to the Pomo Creek Trail.  Cross Screech Owl and continue to Saloon Trail. Because it was such a sunny and windless day we decided to continue south to the trail that goes under the highway then to Tallgrass and right on Leeward and left on Helm to the bluff trail and back to the cars via the Salal Trail.  We lunched at the picnic table overlooking the river and out to the ocean.

Meet at 10:00 at the pullout for the Gualala Business directory north of the bridge to carpool or meet at the corner of Highway One and Robinson Reef (the old site of Laura's Bakery) where we will park. On this walk there are many scenic views. We will see views of the ocean from many different vantage points, interesting and diverse architecture and drought tolerant entry gardens, pass the homes of many of our regular hikers, walk on the Gualala Bluff Trail, and see Gualala in a way most of us have never seen it, on foot. This hike is not level, but none of the "elevation changes" are very long. We will eat our lunches at Ginger's house with glorious views, on her deck if the weather cooperates.

TIMBER RIDGE ROAD - POSH SQUASH - POTLUCK

Meet at 9:45 at pullout for Gualala business directory north of bridge to carpool and/or at end of Verdant View near Two Fish at 10:00. Hang tags needed for non Sea Ranchers. From there we will carpool to Diana and Dave's house at the end of Timber Ridge Road. Diana will make soup for our potluck and the rest of us can bring food to go with that. We'll walk north on this road (with perhaps some side trips) stopping to see the Posh Squash before turning around and walking back to the Bower house for lunch. This is a forested road with ups and downs so a hiking stick could be helpful. Rain won't cancel, but could shorten the hike.
