Fort Ross State Park

For the first time in 8 years of living and hiking on the northern coast of California I saw a pool of newts, swimming, mating, and literally just hangin' out.

  1. Ft. Ross is special. During the hike many memories of past Ft. Ross rambles filled my mind. Foremost were those concerning the explorations that I with my friends Ray and Ray made there.

  2. Beautiful day, lovely shady forest loops, good company, lunch on a hidden picnic table, ripe blackberries, trees influenced by earthquakes, homemade zucchini bread with chocolate in it and the bonus of the pool of newts, what a delight! We are so lucky to live where we do.
