After a big down pour the skies cleared and we had a large group show up for Dard's birthday hike. A homemade cake (made by Mary Hunter) and ice cream (provided by Mary Sue) ended the adventure. A few hours later the rains returned.
PS It is Mary Suhr birthday too. She didn't hike, but enjoyed the yummy treats.

There were lots of spring flowers to see on the hike today (stream violets, redwood violets, Clintonia almost open, redwood sorrel, wild ginger, Trillium, colt's foot) and millions of little redwood trees coming up everywhere. We were so lucky with the weather today and the forest as always was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI made a bit of a fool of myself boasting of my birthday coinciding with a hike day. But, what the heck, it was worth it. What could be better than sharing a scrumptious, yummy, to kill for white cake (from scratch)with chocolate frosting and vanilla ice cream with friends.
